October 14, 2007 Sermon
From: Mathew 26:26-29; Luke 24:28-35

In the sanctuary
we are satisfied with
bread and wine
body and blood.
After worship
we sit at table together
in the way of ordinary life,
the common meal
prepared and served,
sacrifice at center.
In conversation
spilling out of love
we encounter the risen
Christ, there again, always
feeding us
the bread from heaven
the wine from the only vine.
Knowing him
we eat and drink
with gospel seriousness.
This meal, every meal,
is more salvation
than nutrition.
Communing saints, we
cultivate a sacrificial life.
