Unashamed of the Gospel, an illustration by Grace Ellen Schiel
Illustration by Grace Ellen Schiel
He reasons
with reasonable logic,
issues a back-door declaration
“not ashamed of the gospel of Christ.”
He glories in it,
boasts in it,
rakes the fire to flame again.

He understands
the world calls ridiculous
the gospel of grace he preaches;
a stumbling block, foolishness
because of the message;
a series of facts,
every person needs the savior.

He knows
it’s not a philosophy and
it’s offensive to the natural mind;
unashamed not because
it makes him happy
or meets his needs
but because it is the power of God.
