Gospel encounter in the middle
of living our self-help lives
exposes our own righteousness
as a sham; our false hope
uncovered by the power of God.
of living our self-help lives
exposes our own righteousness
as a sham; our false hope
uncovered by the power of God.
Gospel clarity shows us that no
one is good; no one seeks for God;
everyone, Jew and Gentile, are
condemned; lawbreakers. Then,
reconciled to God, we come to understand
how righteousness comes from God;
what he demands, he provides;
makes it possible for even the worst
of us, if we must categorize sin,
to be right; to stand in God’s presence.
Salvation is Christ. By grace alone,
through faith alone, we live coram deo.
God working in us, we work out our
“being saved” lives until “blameless before
the presence of his glory with great joy.”
