His love summons us to an understanding
seen only when light enters from without.
A truth as inscrutable as its reflection,
something unknown to memory,
walls the soul with thought; makes us
eager to hear; to replenish our thirst
at the source, to rest for a moment
in love’s resonance.
There is a sword enters our hearing,
knowledge we long to share.
There is no pearl without price as
the light makes of itself a transparency.
Being filled with the Spirit, joyful,
we sing truth to one another,
uplift praise to the Lord as equals,
amazed in the spreading light;
in the heartbeat of heaven’s purposes.
seen only when light enters from without.
A truth as inscrutable as its reflection,
something unknown to memory,
walls the soul with thought; makes us
eager to hear; to replenish our thirst
at the source, to rest for a moment
in love’s resonance.
There is a sword enters our hearing,
knowledge we long to share.
There is no pearl without price as
the light makes of itself a transparency.
Being filled with the Spirit, joyful,
we sing truth to one another,
uplift praise to the Lord as equals,
amazed in the spreading light;
in the heartbeat of heaven’s purposes.
