This is our third Knowing Him Today edition here on the web site keeping you up to date on Christ Church news and events. We welcome not only the Christ Church family, but anyone in the community — or for that matter the world — to get to know us better.
From the Pulpit
Last Sunday we heard the first sermon in the Easter 2010 series entitled “We Are Overjoyed.” Of course, if you missed it you can hear hear it here on the web in streaming audio. This Sunday, Pastor Dan will deliver the second sermon of the Easter 2010 series with a sermon entitled “There Will be Praise.” With the sermon text from Luke 19:28-40 about the triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, we are preparing ourselves for Resurrection Sunday on April 4.
Church Family Meeting Change
Our Church Family Meeting originally scheduled for 6 p.m. this Sunday, March 28, has been changed. Following this Sunday’s morning worship service, Christ Church members will remain a few minutes to affirm and install new elders, Philip Moorman and Bob Wendrock.
Local Mission Support: PACN Fundraiser
The Pregnancy Assistance Center North invites you to Dinner and a Show on Friday, April 30, 2010 at The Woodlands Resort & Conference Center. There will be a silent auction and raffle at 6 p.m. and dinner and a show at seven. This is a fund-raising event for PACN, which is doing excellent work in the Conroe Area.
Several Christ Church families have made reservations. We have two tables reserved and have eight places still available. The cost is $55 per person. You may email Pastor Dan or call to let him know if you would like to attend.
Work Begins on Widening League Line Road

Work progresses clearing trees along League Line Road, immediately adjacent to our church parking lot.
And the trees came tumbling down!
The giant yellow monster furiously dug at mighty roots like a hungry dog after a bone … rammed huge tree trunks over and over again … and in short order, another tree ripped right out of the ground.
In about an hour, the last thirty feet east of the Christ Church property line was stripped of trees, and the massive John Deere backhoe finished its job of clearing the eastern side of church property to make way for two additional lanes on League Line Road.
Sometime in the next few months, our sign out front will be moved about 20 or so feet closer to the sanctuary, as will the white board fence on the west side of the property. The two trees in the paved parking lot will be removed as well, and we’ll definitely have a new look – not necessarily one we want, but that’s what we’ll get.
On the positive side, when construction is completed, League Line will be a four-lane, curbed road which should move traffic a little more safely. The curbing should also cut down on the “wheelie vandalism” that occurs nearly every time we have a heavy rain, as well as the semi trucks making U-turns on the grass parking lot.
Christian Education Update
Adult Christian Education for the second quarter begins April 4. In the Fellowship Hall we’ll be studying the book of Ephesians. The second half of our course on Knowing God will continue in the regular adult classroom.
Continued Prayer Needs
Some long-time members of the congregation have had some difficult times this last week and we continue in prayer for them. We have also had praise reports from several folks as well, so life continues as we continue to seek the Lord ‘s mercy, healing and grace in all things. We encourage you to stay attentive to the prayer needs for our congregation through regular fellowship and via the email prayer updates.
Ladies Bible Study Continues
The Beth Moore bible study continues this Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the Fellowship hall for the fourth of nine sessions. Remember to be there!

Ron & Barbara, I love what you guys are doing with this site. These updates are wonderful!
Thanks for the encouragement Bob. We’re hoping to stimulate comments on sermon posts during the week as well to generate continuing conversation on what was preached.
